Ticket tiers that make sense in a small room

Early bird, general, on the door. Three prices is usually two too many for a hundred-capacity venue, and here is the arithmetic behind that.

Tiering works when the room is large enough that scarcity is real. Below roughly two hundred seats, an early tier mostly discounts the people who were always going to come.

What does work is a single advance price and a higher door price, stated plainly. It rewards planning without asking the buyer to model your release schedule.

The exception is a bill with a strong support act. There, a bundle beats a tier: two nights, one price, and a reason to come back.
