About GigHub

A noticeboard
for live music

GigHub is a board for open nights. Venues post the slot, artists take it, and everyone else sees what is on.

When an act pulls out, the fix should not live in one person's phone. Put the night on the board with the pay, the start time and the gear, and let anyone who fits put their hand up.

Aims and objectives

Five things the platform is for, in the order they matter to us.

  1. 01

Put the whole calendar in one place

    • Listings go live immediately, with no approval queue and no listing fee.
    • A corner pub fills in the same form as a nine hundred seat theatre.
    • Anyone can read the board, whether they play, book or just want a night out.
  2. 02

Make the money plain before anyone agrees

    • Door splits, guarantees and tips are stated up front, in the slot itself.
    • Settlement happens between the two people who agreed it, on the night.
    • No commission, no booking fee taken out of the fee on the way through.
  3. 03

Give an artist one profile that travels

    • Genre, rating and the gigs actually played sit together on one page.
    • Applying to a slot after that is a single click.
    • What you have applied for lives on your dashboard, not in your memory.
  4. 04

Carry the night through the door

    • Tiers, guest lists and door lists built from the same event record.
    • Check-in runs on a phone at the door, with the lights down.
    • Each part works on its own, so a room can take only what it needs.
  5. 05

Keep the small rooms in the picture

    • No minimum capacity, no vetting of venues by size or by turnover.
    • Ratings exist so a room and an act can recognise each other, not to rank anyone.
    • Whatever is missing goes on the list ahead of what we thought was next.
